The Canadian Federation of Independent Business calculated something that really struck us: $0.66 of every dollar spent at a small business stays in the local economy. Compare that to the $0.08 that stays when you buy from a web giant, and the choice suddenly takes on a whole new meaning.

Your purchase is not neutral. It circulates. It bounces from one business to another, from a craftsperson to a supplier, from a supplier to a local coffee shop. This is called the multiplier effect, and in Quebec, it's very real.

Local = less polluting (and it's proven)

We often hear about carbon footprint without really knowing what to do about it. Here's a concrete number: a study published in Le Devoir compared Quebec products to their imported equivalents. Result: imported products generate on average 34% more greenhouse gases.

Not just because of transportation. Primarily because of the energy used to manufacture them, and Quebec, with its hydroelectricity, has a head start.

Our candles are hand-poured here, with soy wax. This is not a branding detail. It's a conscious decision.
